My girlfriend and I ate at Zula for a last minute birthday dinner. Upon arrival a booth wasn't available so the host asked if we would like to have a cocktail in the bar and that one would be available shortly. The bartender offered a drink called a Zula blue for the birthday girl. She loved it. Our waiter (Todd) offered great suggestions including the BBQ Creole shrimp appetizer. I told him I wanted a wine to compliment our entrees. I was having the veal chop and she was having the tuna. The sommelier offered a Foley Pinot Noir. Jackie flipped over this wine and said she usually only drinks merlot. Our chocolate mousse dessert arrived with a sparkler blazing away and Happy Birthday Jackie written with chocolate on the plate. This is one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had in Houston. We will be back!!!
