Volterra has a lovely, warm ambiance and fantastic food-the only problem is being tempted to eat too much! My favorites are the polenta with mushrooms appetizer and the Tuscan bread salad, but the list of favorites is growing every time I go. Service is always perfect, attentive but not intrusive, and the atmosphere is comfortable, not stuffy or too formal, which allows you to really enjoy the food. The owners are welcoming and treat you as if you were dining at their home, with lots of attention to details. Great date restaurant for a romantic dinner. It's officially my first choice to dine out.
Pros: fab food, romantic
Cons: parking
