I'm writing to bring some balance to the rave reviews here. I have had several meals at this restaurant and the food is just what you would expect from a neighborhood Italian, mom-and-pop restaurant. It is very pleasant and homey and old school Italian American (not Italian Italian), and I really like the fact that it's still around. The pastas were hearty and a notch above restaurants of its level, but this is not a place I would think of to take out-of-towners or dates. This place is a safe bet with older members of my family who don't like Zagatsy restaurants or don't like fancy gourmet meals.
