I live on the upper east side, but met friends at Banc Cafe recently. I eat out 3 to 4 times a week & this is the first in quite a while that I have been impressed to the extent that I felt compelled to comment on it. Four of us had dinner. We shared two appetizer sampler plates between us, (excellent). I had a Salmon entree, it was really, really good. One of my friends had a chicken dish, she said that it was wonderful.
Server was friendly & attentive although I had difficulty understanding her when she was explaining the specials, she spoke with an accent. The prices are also decent. I don't live nearby, but I will definitely go back there.
