We had a great time traveling to the summit of Pike's Peak. The tour is safe & informative with spectacular views all along the way. The conductor was a wellspring of knowledge & entertaining. Be sure you bring/wear cold weather clothing-it was 60 degrees at the base but 14 at the summit, -30 with the wind chill! Wear appropriate footwear as there are icy patches too-I was wearing sneakers, had difficulty navigating over the ice (others in sneakers were fine. I need boots in such slippery conditions). The initial headrush of being at 14,000+ feet is dizzying but you settle in eventually. Words can't describe the views up there, the scenery at the summit inspired ""America The Beautiful."" A great family tourist activity (just don't forget to wear shoes you can walk over ice in!).
Pros: Great views, Informative, Safe trip
Cons: Icy patches at summit
