Tai pan did not disappoint! I went on the recommendation of a foodie friend, and was very happy with both my meal and the surprisingly upscale decor. The restaurant, which is only a few months old, seems more like something you would expect to have to travel up to the city to encounter - not your usual chinese restaurant. We had a few meat dishes - the basil chicken and the spare ribs (both were very good), as well as the special seafood soup. The fried rice is unlike any other I have tasted - very light, and made with egg whites. I also tried a few recommendations I wouldn't have normally ordered: braised oxtail and a special seabass. Both were delicious! I'm glad that when my family comes back to town I have a great upscale option to take them to that's local.
Pros: nice decor, excellent food, unique menu
