Pacific Buddhist Academy is the nation's first Shin Buddhist high school. Located in Nuuanu this school has a signature program, Peace Studies, which expands the curriculum at the Hongwanjy Mission School based on Buddhist values of compassion, interdependence, and oneness with self, others and nature. The school provides small classes with a maximum student/teacher ratio of 18:1 which allow the school's dedicated teachers to provide individualized instruction and guidance. The new high school will have new facilities including a gymnasium, swimming pool, library, and computer center. I would recommend this school to buddhist families in the Nuuanu area.
