If you are seeking the low country fare that Charleston is famous for go to another resturant. If you enjoy a long wait, poor service and awful food this is the place to go. My wife and I ordered fried shrimp. After one bite (which I subsequently deposited in my napkin) I summoned the manager (our server was not to be found) to complain that the shrimp was fishey tasting (usually a sign the shrimp is not fresh) and that it had not been deveined (disgusting).
The manager informed us the shrimp was fresh and that not de-veining shrimp was a Charleston custom. I visit Charleston 5-6 times a year and have dined in most of Charleston's seafood resturants at one time or another and believe me shrimp that has not been de-veined is NOT a Charleston custom. Please go to another resturant.
