The Blue Note is by far the best jazz club in the world. This year alone Ive seen the following shows: Ron Carter, Chick Corea, Cassandra Wilson, and McCoy Tyner. A few weeks back I was at the Jimmy Scott show and Elton John sat in. The following week George Benson sat in with James Carters band. You really never know what to expect at the Blue Note.
The seating is very tight but this is not a bad thing. The intimacy of this club is what makes it so special. You literally sit feet away from the performers.
Ive been to the other jazz clubs in town and the Blue note is very reasonably priced comparatively. The minimum at the tables is only $5. The drinks are not outrageous and the all inclusive <$20 brunch show on Sundays is a steal.
