Or was it only the overly pretentious, stereotypical French sommelier who made it appear that way? Admittedly, their wine list is both extensive and impressive. Equally impressive are the price tags-- many of the sections fetching in excess of $300.00 per bottle. We love wine, but not quite that much.
Casanova can be a charming experience if you're seated in the right place. We'd made a reservation and were seated promptly by an aloof hostess in the middle of a noisy outdoor patio. After being approached numerous times by the overzealous and arrogant sommelier, we opted to move to a charming, quieter table in a small, rustic downstairs room with a fireplace.
Food is very good, I will give them that. Unfortunately, even with the skilled chef to their credit we left Casanova with a bad taste in our mouth, from the sommelier more than anything else.
Pros: Interesting décor, Very good food
Cons: , Very expensive wines
