Statesboro's arrogantly shabby bar, the Woodin Nikel (just "The Nikel" to GSU students) is everything one could wish for in a true college hotspot: loud hip-hop and dance music, hundreds of beautiful females thrusting pelvises with hundreds of googly-eyed guys, an outdoor deck in the back, cheap drinks, and all the tackiness you can imagine. Hardwood floors, indoor wooden picnic tables, vulgar DJs, year-round Christmas lights, packed crowds, and very little clothing give this place a unique personality. "The Best Time You'll Never Remember," the bar claims. This is close to the truth, though you will remember it regardless of how drunk you may be. "Drink and Drown" on Saturday nights and "Ladies Lockup" on Wednesday nights are the best times to go.
