Come to Middle Earth..., and have a sandwich. The Hobbit Cafe (formerly the Hobbit Hole) is one of the cool niches in Houston. The sandwiches are fantastic, and come in two versions. The SLIM is a regular sized sandwich, while the CLASSIC is huge. The menu offers tons of vegetarian options, but will suit us carnivores as well. I love the Chicken salad. The also serve Mexican dishes (I guess Hobbits are from Mexico) and smooties; both of which are pretty tasty. The Sunday brunch offers pancakes, omeletes, and standard breakfast fare with a natural foods twist.
Service can be a little slow, but the food is generally worth the wait.
Pros: good food, location, prices
