Ike serves what you called the ""honest sushi"" of Japan. It is nothing fancy, but good old traditional value driven sushi. They do use imitation crab in their cali-roll, but it is for the convenience of the non-regulars. Should you desire the real thing, the humorous Ike calls it the ""Avocado and Kani (crab) Roll."" One point worth mentioning is their tempura. The tempura chef is hispanic, but his skills are better than many of his Japanese rivals.
