paru's has easily become one of my favorite L.A. restaurants. this hole-in-the-wall restaurant is easy-to-miss, but i personally prefer it that way. it still unfortunately catches some hollywood fuzz, but for the most part, its aura is untainted and remains peaceful, relaxing and very authentic. its indoor seating is sparse, about ten tables total, and you don't have much room between them. somehow, the place remains quiet even when packed and people are standing at the door, staring at you and your food savagely! the vegetarian platters (yogi's delight) are delicious. i highly recommend the lentil soup as an appetizer. the prices are unbelievably reasonable. and the wait staff, as down-to-earth as you could hope for, especially in L.A.
