The editorial review is way behind the times. I can't speak much about the pool hall but there is an adjoining room that has become a top-notch jazz club. There's little noise from the pool tables, and most of the excellent jazz scene (and much of the decor) from Smalls has moved over after the latter closed down a couple years ago. There's now music most nights of the week, check fatcatjazz.com for a sometimes-unreliable schedule. One of the better places to hear jazz in the city.
Pros: great jazz, not too expensive, good crowds
