As someone whose employment has taken them to many cities around the country, and has exposed me to countless restaurants, I deem Vargo's in my top five. For atmosphere, it is #1 for me. To look out on the lake or walk around the grounds and see the peacocks and ducks, etc., is so idyllic - as though you've been transported to another world. I was always saddened that I was there for business as the atmosphere - the Swiss Chalet-like lounge and the grounds seemed romantic. I was there mostly in the late seventies and eighties and pray it has not changed much - I loved it there - would love to have lived there (smile).
