Prices were amazing, and the atmosphere fun. We enjoyed the ""experience""...friendly service, good location. However, after having just eaten last week at Niko's in Houston, my lifelong lebanese friend and great cook, and my many visits to Phoenician bakery, well..Marakesh falls shy of performance in comparison. The hummus was watery and bland (needed more garlic, but we improved it upon lemon). Very sadly, the pita is thin and insubstantial, (a supermarket variety?), instead of warm, chewy, thick pita you normally find in Mediterranean restaurants. My chicken kabob, spiced well, but so dry I literally choked on it. Lamb kabob paled next to the lamb shanks at Nikos. Our friends enjoyed their cabbage rolls. I loved the side salad, but rice was mushy. I might return for the fun and price, but for great food, I'll stop by Phoenician bakery.
