I'm actually stunned that there are no reviews of Cafe Gibraltar here yet. Zagat recently rated it second only to the French Laundry in all of the Bay Area. Their new location gives them more space (meaning it's less than impossible to get a table), and they now serve lunch as well.
As a coastsider, I've always treasured this place, even though it was inevitable that city folk would find out about it. The cuisine is consistently inventive, and costs less than inferior but trendy places in SF. It's simply not to be missed.
Pros: Inventive cuisine, Now serves lunch
Cons: No reservations
