I have to agree with one review that the creamy didn't have quite the garlicky bite that its Paesano's counterpart does (however it is still tasty, with a nice carmelized edge). Several of Piccolo's appetizers are a bit pricey and sometimes lacking in viewable food (i.e. clams in wine sauce appetizer -- littlenecks are more appropriate for a pasta or mixed dish than alone -- at least use mussels or cherrystones). The scallopini is nice taste-wise, although puny. Dishes with tomato sauces are also wholesome, but sometimes buried in the stuff -- a simple correction. The restaurant was cozy (dim with quiet acoustics) for a romantic evening -- the waitstaff less likely to 'hawk' the table than at other establishments (although, I have run into one waiter who was a bit hesitant even to refill a water glass). Although somewhat inconsistent, I would return to Piccolo's for a night out.
