Jeff Ruby's has risen to the top of the heap. I used to be a regular patron of another downtown steakhouse but Jeff Ruby's has taken over my business. Now that Mr. Ruby has John as the Maitre d', it is even better. The food is simply fantastic, the winelist very complete. The waiters are excellent, very attentive and very professional. There is an occasional mix-up (no pun intended) in that my wife likes her whiskey sours ""up"" and even though it is served in a tall wine glass (nobody has real sour glasses anymore)it usually has to be returned to the bartender to have the ice removed. Now we order it ""without ice.""
