Might as well hand over your wallet! 9/3/2002

For what averaged out to $75 per person (and we didn't have ANY drinks), we were served an array of lackluster appetizers and entrees -- fried pork/shrimp dumplings; lettuce wraps (I still have a problem paying for iceberg); noodles with some unidentifiable substance resembling dog food; scallion tart; phlegmy-textured Dover sole; beef with asparagus (okay, the asparagus WAS very fresh); spicy battered shrimp; and pigeon (which looked and tasted like something you'd be forced to eat for an immunity challenge on ""Survivor VII: Marooned in Central Park""). The service was tag-team style, and included our snotty waiter and a team of underlings who mumbled the names of each dish as they placed it on the table. Don't waste your time or money at Mr. Chow. You'll get better food and see celebrities if you buy a ""People Magazine"" and go to Panda Express! Pros: clearly labelled exit, cloth napkins, good asparagus Cons: EXPENSIVE, mediocre food, bad service more
