cute, unpretentious bartenders, some of whom wear cuter pants, keep things flowing and bearable even when there is no more seating to be located. besides the almost excellent jukebox (it could use more pixies albums), this place attracts a nice mix of people, from your typical indie-type from the other side of 5th avenue to your high school lab partner's grandma (seriously, some old dames were out one night!). prices are in line with other area bars, but the atmosphere is much more chill and inviting. if daisey's diner was across the street, a trip to buttermilk would be heavenly.
Pros: jukebox, price, lighting
Cons: seating
