A complete surpise! Having eaten at some of SF's ""best"", I expected more of the same from Rubicon... so-so food w/ spotty service and thru-the-roof prices. NOT THE CASE!
Rubicon, with its understated decor, authentically friendly staff, and air of a ""sophisticated good time"" makes for a very laid back, cool scene. The food is unbelieveable. Amazing variety, creative mixes & presentation, and REAL quality ingredients. They clearly take serving delicious food very seriously. Rubicon is a rarity in SF...you get the sizzle AND the steak. It was a true and total ""experience"" that was clearly based on my needs not theirs.
