The Chinatown Mall is a mini-food court of 3 or 4 restaurnats on the corner of Beach and Harrison on the 2nd floor walk-up. Swatow is one of the few to be constantly open, as many establishments come and go. Great noodles and rice plates, this may be the ultimate Boston Chinatown place for lunch or one-plate meals. Leaning toward Cantonese with specialities including barbecued chicken on rice, spicy salted squid (or ""spare ribs"" or shrimp or fish) on rice, dry-fried chow fun and shanghai style noodles. Loud, a little grimy, a great joint.
Pros: huge menu, great cooking, inexpensive
Cons: grimy atmosphere, loud, can be sweltering
