After a pretty disappointing night out, the night was redeemed by a little place called ""Village Latern"". For a $5 cover, you get access two two floors, live music, DJ, and plenty of good drinks at a reasonable price. The basement lounge had a live band playing fresh and original grooves that was a nice getaway from the mainstream/old-school hip-hip classics spinning upstairs. If you like singing along and grooving to familiar beats, the DJ upstairs provides a great selection, though he could take a few lessons in beat matching. The bartenders had sharp eyes and were quick to take orders. Altogether, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed with a fun, carefree crowd that knows how to have a good time and groove to the beats.
