Charming little Aveda salon in Old Town Monrovia (close to Pasadena). Set up in an old house, but the rooms are cosy and elegant--draped fabric on the ceiling in soothing blue. I don't think they do hairstyles, just facials and waxing.
Pros: friendly staff, eyebrows for $12
