Ricecrazy (the previous poster) must live in a better neighborhood than me, because compared to my local market (the lackluster Pioneer), Vons is the bomb! Luckily, I drive past here after work daily. Otherwise, I'd be relegated to a life eating unripe produce and Wonder bread. The ""customer service"" can get a little creepy (it can be overwhelmingly ""friendly"" for an antisocial type). The produce guy, however, is very helpful and will always tell you what's on sale or what's especially good that day.
