It is very pretty there, but a long drive from Chicago for a short experience. Unless you are interested in chochkies & antiques. They best things to see are the Apple Haus, The Confectionary the the art gallary near one of the parking lots.
Pros: cute gift items, good apple stuff
Cons: long drive from city, not a lot of activity
