Taste of Texas is bland and kitschy compared to more sophisticated central-Houston steakhouses like Pappas Bros. The steak was adequate, but certainly nothing to brag about, and we quickly became annoyed with the frequent ""Happy Birthday"" choruses and ""Yee-Haws"" from the wait staff, as well as with the country music ballads blasting over the sound system. The salad bar was gross, the wine list sufficient but unimpressive, and the side-dishes bland. We definitely will not return.
