The Statler Hotel is literally located in the heart of the Cornell Campus; you step outside and you are in the middle of central campus. It is adjacent to the School of Hotel Administration and many of the "hotelies" work at the hotel.
The rooms are pretty standard and I was a bit disappointed when I saw them. I expected something a bit more luxurious, but there was certainly nothing about which to complain. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
The hotel also has a lounge and a restaurant which are quite good. The service that you get is high quality.
There are times of the year when you might be able to get a room, although during busy times like graduation and orientation, it is almost impossible.
Prices are a bit steep for what you get (about $200 a night) and unless you really need to be close, you might be better off looking for a hotel that is nearby and cheaper. Nonetheless, the Statler is a great hotel with a great location.
