We've frequented the Bowery many evenings since moving to 1/2 mile away. It's a great local bar that is actually quite crowded on many nights. They have great drink specials (lots of $1 and $2 beers), and decent bar food (we generally go for the chicken strips or nachos.) You can play Keno, pick sons on their digital jukebox, and even do Karaoke on Wednesdays. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, but it's generally an enjoyable place to spend an evening, or even an hour at the end of a night.
