Where do I begin? Let's see first of all, I cannot type enough words to describe what an incredible journey James & Kara have been on since I first met them, after the opening of my business. There curiosity, drive and passion for having there own used bookstore, was simply amazing. Each week or so, they would come in and we would talk about our dreams, our hopes and our wishes for accomplishing in our eyes, the term a successful life. And now J & K are living there dream, as well as I am.
Amicus Books, is a VERY special place, filled with lots of wonderful used, out of print books, with a little something for everyone, including myself. The very first time I got to make it over, I found a wonderful old Reader's Digest Gardening Book, that reminded me of my grandmother, when she was alive, and I cherish that book to this day. In fact, you can see it, behind my sales counter, and is a daily reminder of her, and her love of gardening. Maybe that's why I have a green thumb, too.
I have to tell you, we have traveled many cities and towns, and while stopping at some of them, we have seen similar places, for instance, Green Apple Books in SF, and The Bookstore in Chico, and Ames Bookstore in Grass Valley, and we are EXTREMELY privileged to have Amicus Books in YC, and should thank James & Kara for going out on a limb and opening there bookstore. I am profoundly thankful and so happy that I got to be a small part of it, by encouraging them to do it. THANKS! J&K!! :-)
Please support them, and tell everyone you know about them, cause I certainly am, to anyone I come in contact with who loves books, loves a great place to read & browse, and you will NEVER come across more caring, more kinder, more open-minded people as I have with James & Kara...We are SO very lucky to have them here in Yuba City, and hopefully for many, many, many, many years to come! Its a goldmine of treasured reading, and after reading this message, you need to get in your car and head right over there, RIGHT NOW!! What are you waiting for? Get going!!

I just get Warm Fuzzies thinking about these two people...You will get that same feeling once you have met them...They will definitely make you feel right at home!!
