Awash has the most amazing cuisine. First, the experience of eating Ethiopian is a blast. You eat with your fingers, and no utensils. While some people find this to be unusual, rest assured it is well worth the sticky fingers. The food ranges from vegetarian delights to lamb, chicken and beef dishes. All foods are completely reasonable, and the portions are HUGE! The wait staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help decipher the unknown dishes. My personal favorite is the shiro (mashed chickpeas with special spices), and all dishes are eaten with the injera bread (stretchy sour-dough bread with a spongy feel – trust me, delicious!)
