I purchased a new Subaru Crosstrek in December 2024 from Southern States. Since then, I have been waiting for my new car’s license plate and have still not received it.
Initially the dealership insisted that the plate hadn’t arrived from the DMV due to an aluminum shortage. I waited and continued calling until contacting the DMV in April. They confirmed they had sent the plate to the dealership in January. After waiting on the phone for an hour with the dealership, they admitted they lost the plate and would order a new one. They confirmed they had the plate and would send it to my address which I provided.
It has been three weeks since the shipment was said to be made and I still have not received the plate.
Whenever I call the dealership to follow up, they transfer me to an answering machine at which point I leave a message. I’ve left multiple messages just this week and still have not heard back.
This has been and continues to be a terrible experience, and I would strongly discourage others from purchasing vehicles from this dealership.
