I've been suffering for almost 10 years with what I initially thought was only a birth defect. However after seeing Dr.Barroga I've learned, because of the MRI's and X-RAY's that he insisted that I needed, I've learned of several issues with my back and nerves. In 2008 I was a patient at another another pain mngmt clinic and for three years I kept telling the nurse (because I never got to visit with the Doc) that the meds they were prescribing was not helping at all and they refused to listen to anything I had to say. It was pay your Co pay and here's what WE think you need and GOODBYE. Once I started to insist that they change my meds they dismissed me as a patient. I can't begin to tell you how awful I was treated and belittled at this other pain mngmt clinic. However my sisternlaw heard through a friend about Dr. Barroga and suggested I see him. I had almost lost all hope, in fact I did. I was stressed, depressed and just wanted to give up on life. I thought I would never find a Doc who truly cares then I met Dr Barroga and my life has changed. Now I can say that I'm not exactly where I need to be in terms of a complete pain free life because I've only been seeing him for a few months but I'm almost there. After he insisted/required me to get new MRI's and X-RAY's I now know why I'm in so much pain every day, however together him and I have come up with a plan to get me back to living somewhat of a normal life. Anyone who says he just writes scripts and sends you on your way is full of BS! He listens to your concerns unlike most doc's who think THEY KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU or THEY know YOUR body better then YOU do! Dr.Barroga requires updated records before just writing scripts, he requires evaluations, updated lab work ect he also requires you to write down how (in detail) your meds are or aren't helping every single visit. Does that sound like a Doc who doesn't care? NO! I can't speak for everyone in terms of staff in office because I've not been with him but for a few months. But so far everyone seems really nice. I will say the receptionist is a little on the rough side if that makes any sense. In other words she's not exceptionally nice or she doesn't come off very caring but no one's perfect. Yes she could stand to have a little more bed side manner after all the people coming to her window are in pain. However she's not the one that I deal with, I give her my copay and sign a few documents and that's sums up my interaction with her. I love the nurse and my doc and that's all I care about. Everyone else I've encountered has been real nice and understanding. If you are looking for a Doc who truly cares about you. A Doc who doesn't pretend to know YOUR body better than YOU do then he's the Doc for you. If you're ready to have your life back then he's the Doc for you. Be prepared to have a updated records if not he'll write an order for mandatory updated lab, Mri, x-ray ect but once he sees that you are in fact in pain he'll work with you to get your life back. Thank you Dr. Barroga for giving me and my family my life back. I thank God for such a sweet, kind, caring Doctor.
