My hot water heater pilot light went out and would not stay lit. The plumber from Roto Rooter checked it out and said the Controler and Thermal Coupling would have to be replaced for $900.00 (would have to order the parts) but I probably should get a new heater with a price quote of $2875.00. The next day he called and stated he was having difficulty finding the part and I should probably purchase a new heater.
Fortunately that same morning the gas company came to the house diagnosed a bad Thermal Coupling and replaced it for $46.00 and it's now working fine. As a senior citizen on a limited budget I will probably never call Roto-Rooter again!
