I placed a deposit on a Saturday and cancelled on Monday. 500.00 mistake.
K9 companions has no concern for your dog. You and your pet are only $$ to them.
I was new to owning a bulldog. After realizing I was in over my head I was looking to get Clyde trained. His constant behavior issues were making it difficult on this single dad. I called on a Friday and met with them the next day. I expressed a concern this is the last step or I have to find him a new home.
I was a very easy sell, I placed the 500 deposit for a 3 week period and yes I signed paperwork. I just felt overwhelmed at the moment with the issues and felt this would somehow make the situation easier. What new pet owner hasn't felt this way and made a poor choice. It could happen to anyone of you.
During the tour I was shown the facility. It is in NO WAY accommodating for short nose breeds. First - It's outdoors, they have 1 wall mounted fan with a mister. Any bulldog owner knows they cannot take the heat. She could sense my concern and showed me a laundry room where if it gets too hot they would put Clyde. I did not see any air conditioner nor did it feel air conditioned. Even in a warm house Clyde would overheat and vomit. So I did not trust they had proper means to take care of him. Second - The trainer herself said that they would either use a choke chain or a prod collar for training. Any bulldog lover knows that they have a hard enough time breathing standing in place without having someone impede their breathingg or worse, crush their trachea. Third - they use deprivation training. Meaning your dog is kept in a kennel all day every day with their only break is when being trained.
It wasn't until trying to find Clyde a home that I heard about these methods. I would not be surprised if they lost bulldogs. Heat is a bulldogs kryptonite.
Please let my mistake teach you a lesson you don't have to make. If you love your pet BUYERS BEWARE!!! If this review is of any help please tell them.
