I have been going to Callahan for a few years now. I love Dr. Hilla. He is personable and very informative. The receptionist, Samantha, however is completely unknowledgeable. I called asking about Revolution, which is known to prevent and TREAT earmites. I was first greeted with inaccurate information and then, upon further questioning, slapped with the charming response of "Well, I actually don't know". How unprofessional -not solely unprofessional to not know, but very unprofessional to tell me Revolution won't treat earmites and I absolutely have to bring my pet in (more $ for them) to treat the earmites. And if she didn't know the answer, rather than dumbfoundedly saying "I don't know", do the research, ask a tech, assistant, or even Dr. Hilla. She is getting paid for more than simply scheduling appointments. I'm sure I'm not the first person to call with questions expecting accurate answers. I called a veterinarian's office, not Petsmart. I'm bummed because I appreciate Dr. Hilla and used to recommend his practice to other pet owners in the area, but I can't, in good conscience, recommend him while Samantha is spewing out inaccurate information behind her desk. Time to look for a new vet....unless there is a way to bypass misinformed/uninformed receptionists all together? How can I trust my furry baby is receiving proper care when even the most common and basic questions are too much to handle? Dr. Hilla is absolutely wonderful though!
