The quality of the shoes in this store are tops! However, the person who waited on us who I was told is the owner, was so horribly rude and disrespectful that both my husband and I walked out of the store - and we have NEVER done that in our lives! He was arrogant from the first words he spoke to us. He implied my husband's shoes were poor quality, that we were foolish to buy them at an outlet mall, that they were the wrong size (they were not). I was politely waiting from him to set down several boxes of shoes, and he told me to find a place to sit that otherwise I would step on his hand and he had had some sort of surgery done on it. This kind of conversation continued until he basically told my husband that I didn't know what I was talking about regarding a foot condition my husband has and from which I have recovered. Please understand that my husband and I were polite from the start, that we are friendly and patient people and did nothing to antagonize this man. When he pointedly questioned my knowledge, I got up and walked out, stating I had never walked out of a store in my life but I was doing it then. After I left he apologized to my husband who said he had had enough, too, and also left. If the man was sincere he would have followed my husband out of the store and apologized to me directly. As far as I'm concerned they were empty words, too little too late. We then went to another shoe store where we were told that the owner is basically pretty nasty to people most of the time. We bought two pairs of shoes - same brands as at Murrays - for half the price, and we were treated kindly and professionally at the 2nd store. Murrays is not a chain and is locally owned, so there is no one higher up to take this complaint to. My hope, by posting this, is that others do not have to experience the kind of treatment we received.
