I spent $84 on a chimney inspection. After two scheduled appointments where no represenative showed up (and I took six hours off work)...an employee finally showed up on the third appt.
The represenative walked into my house, looked up the chimney, told me that the fireplace was fine (we had a “clear line of site”) and walked back out to his unmarked truck. I was shocked and asked him if he was finished his “inspection” (yes) and asked him what was normally included in a chimney inspection because I paid quite a bit of money (that was the entire inspection).
I tried to ask additional questions about the condition of the fireplace and persuade him to do some sorta work – but he just ignored me and got onto this phone. After going back inside my home, he knocked on my door a few minutes later and asked for a $15 “travel fee” and to sign a contract. I refused to do both and after some arguing he finally left.
