I purchased a baby red foot tortoise just before closing in Monday. I saw an ad on Facebook which quoted the price at $50. When I called the store to inquire I was told that they did not know about the ad but would ask the manager. The manager offered a package price and I was quoted a price. When I got to the store the package price was higher than what I wa quoted by $100. Again we were on the phone with the manager he would not honor the price I was given on the phone but we agreed on a price that was higher than quoted by $30. The staff was very patient and nice to deal with. When I got home the light in my package was not the right size for the box but I thought it would word. The very next morning the tortoise would not eat. By Friday morning it did not look good. I took it to Avian and Reptile Clinic of Palm City and was told that she was severely impacted and full of clostridium (a bacteria that comes from soggy old vegetables). She had to be given an injection of antibiotic and also had a respiratory infectin. I had only had her for 72 hours. I went back to refund the light and after a phone call with the manager I was told they would only refund the light AFTER I paid full price for the sick tortoise. Not a good experience!
