As a frequent shopper to this Hallmark store I was excited to see back in Sept. the limited edition Hallmark ornaments for the Avengers being released on Oct. 6th. My sons are both avid collectors of comics so this was the ultimate gift for them. I showed up on Oct. 6th right when the store opened to purchase these, the girls were nice and offered me a layaway which I thought was great, only because it would keep my surprise hidden until Christmas because you didn't even have to pick them up until Jan. 6th. So I put down my deposit and made my payments, the latest one one Dec. 7th, and went in on Friday, Dec. 21st to pick up my layaway. Since I have 2 boys of course I bought two of each of the 3 ornaments plus a Batman Dark knight one and also a Darth Vader one, spending almost $150. You can imagine my surprise when the lady says oh, our manager sold these back on Dec. 18th, they tried to call you. Mind you, my contact phone is a cell phone and I have cell phone records which I even doublechecked online last night since they said they attempted to call me. There were never any calls made from them to me. They put me on the phone with the store manager who said I can give you a store credit, STORE CREDIT??? for what?? Told her I wanted a refund and figured I can go home and order online and hope to get them for Christmas. She said she was on her way home and nothing she could do for me to refund my money until tomorrow. So immediately I go home and go online...and SOLD OUT everywhere. My guess is that the store manager figured she could buy them herself and sell them on EBAY for way more since they are in such high demand. That is the only explanation I can figure. Why would they do this to someone? It was apparent that since I was this to someone? It was apparent that since I was just in Dec. 7th to make another payment that I intended to purchase them. I am beyond disgusted and disappointed about this. This is the worst customer service experience
