I purchased a washer/dryer, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave at Sargent and spent over $8000. They did not have the lowest prices on these items but I chose them because the salesperson sold me on the notion that it was a family owned business with great service. This may be true in some cases, but in my case I found them to be some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It’s worth mentioning that I dealt directly with the owner and found him to be condescending and rude throughout the whole problem resolution process. The delivery people broke my screen door and I was told they would be there the next day to fix it and they never came. I had problems with two of my appliances that required 4 visits from their service provider within 10 days of delivery and I had trouble receiving return phone calls from their manager. Problems come up with purchases but it’s all in how the company handles it that determines good customer service. A simple apology goes a long way but they seem to have trouble with that. So if you want to pay higher prices, take 4 days off from work to have your brand new appliances serviced, and be treated poorly by the owner, then you should buy from Sargent. more
