My dog was rushed there in critical condition for bite wounds he sustained from being attacked by stray animals. He was initially treated by Dr. Helcel. We were allowed to visit him and we paid up front for all of the treatments we were told he would need. We were told he would remain overnight and we would be able to take him home in the morning. Throughout the day, we received "updates" and each update requested more money for additional treatments and suggesting if we couldn't pay for the treatments that we have our dog put down. We received an update at 9pm stating that he was standing and coherent. They called again at 10pm and said they needed thousands of dollars more or we could have him put down. Needless to say, we lost our dog. The following day, I went to see if I could speak with the doctor for clarification and they just apologized for the loss and gave me his paperwork but the doctor would not speak with me. If I had it to do over again, I would NEVER have sent my dog to his place. If they are a vet clinic they should also be able to speak with the owners about the loss of a pet. They would not even speak to the referring vet who called days later to check on my dog. If it is a life and death situation, find another place to take your pet!
