DO NOT use this company for simple tasks like hanging pictures or artwork. In my search for exactly this- "Marietta handyman" or "Detail Home Services" come up. They came to my house to hang artwork twice. The first time- it was 2 men and we agreed at a price before hand because they said it would take an hour- an hour and a half. They hung 5 or 6 large paintings in this time period. I did not pay for supplies. The second time- it was 1 guy and I agreed to an hourly rate of more than $80, thinking that hanging the artwork, curtain rods, and blinds I had would take a few hours. I agreed to this even though the first time it was 2 guys- so this time the rate should have been much less if not half. I was in a hurry so I agreed- STUPIDLY. It took him 9 hours. He also charged me for the 30 min of time I spent walking through my house and showing him what needed to be done. I figured if I did this- it would free me up to do other things- it did not. I had to follow him around to remind him of what he needed to do. How hard is it to remember to put one painting placed in front of the wall it will be hung on? Not to mention- after 4 paintings, he still had no idea of what height I liked artwork hung.
I spent so much money for something any man could have and would have done for half what I paid them. The problem is- the guy who sets up the appt gets a cut and so does the guy doing the actual work.
My work literally was putting screws into the walls and into the window sills. That is not worth $800 (rate plus supplies). Especially given that I paid the same hourly rate for two guys the first time instead of one guy the second time.
The work was done well. The only exception to how easy the work was is this: he did a good job of mounting a light fixture into the ceiling and dismantling the ceiling fan that was originally there. He rewired what was a swag light and made it into a chandelier. I will NEVER call this company again- even for complex things. Save your money- get a solo handyman to do the work for you.
