Poor Project Management and Empty Promises 12/15/2011

Good: Some of the AC on-site workers were friendly, detailed, and hard workers. The chimney structure looks nice, minus new grout shades for every 5 rows that go from dark gray to near-white.. Bad: A.C. subbed-out siding work to an unknown 1-man company who showed up onsite with his family or whenever convenient, severely over ordered siding materials, never communicated to subcontractor the work to be done. The A.C. General Contractor was never on-site or met with the subcontractor on-site, often 1-2hr late for meetings\payment collections, and required I provide a translator for the subcontractor. A.C made promises that the sub-contractor would not fulfill. Work is several weeks past due date.. Improvements: Chimney grouting to be a similar color, not different based on daily cement mixtures. A.C. to take ownership and corrective actions for work they subcontracted and promised in the signed statement of work. A.C. GC needs to have more involvement with the project. The client should not be responsible for watching and verifying the work of their employees. A.C. GC does not answer his phone because the "battery dies daily" and does not return calls for days.. Other: They were recommended to me through co-workers and while their price was not the most expensive, it was certainly not the cheapest. I’d be very cautious if I ever hired them again and it would only be for minor/minimal masonry work only. Do not let them subcontract anyone for your projects! Outside of hiring and paying them, you will end up owning that subcontractors relationship. A.C does chimneys… NOTHING else.. more
