My husband and I joined this gym due to its proximity to my house. We were told when we signed up for both the gym and personal training that if we moved 25 miles away from the gym we would be able to cancel our membership. It does state that in the contract as we checked.We moved out of town about a moonth after joining. We called to cancel our membership and they said we had to do it in person. We brought our new utility bills showing our new address as well as our new licenses for proof. We also had a time stamped letter stating why we wanted to cancel. The manager at the gym said it had to go through corporate and actually argued with us on whether or not we actually moved. We called corporate and they kept saying they never received our cancellation and directed us back to the gym manager who redirected us back to corporate. It was a complete dog and pony show. One year later it is still not cancelled. We eneded up having to close our banking account in order to prevent Urban Active from deducting the monthly fee. The personal trainers are very yunproffessional as well and we had a miswerable experience with them as well. Apparently, you can not cance your gym membership and personal trainer at the same time. The personal trainers go through a separate company and that was a anotherf fiasco that did not end well. The personal trainer you think you are signing up with will not be your trainer. You will be reassigned a trainer and mine was not good. Very distracted working with 3 clients at the same time during my workouts. Completely disinterested and actually did not show up to one of our sessions. A lot of the gym equipment was broken and remains that way. They charge you a $15.00 "maintenance fee" that they claim is to fix broken machinery but I dont see it getting used. The staff was rude and almost seemed bothered to have to answer any questions. I would never recommend this gym to anyone.
