We brought an older bike into the shop to have some repairs done; the guy who we showed the bike to remarked how it was a "piece of sh**". After going over the list of repairs and leaving the bike with them, we got a call saying that it would be "too difficult" to get the right parts ordered and that we should look into buying a new bike instead. We went in to the shop to get the bike back, and another guy (not a mechanic) said that the repairs would be no problem after all, and the mechanics were just being lazy and trying to push new bikes. So we let them work on the bike after all, although in the end they conveniently forgot which headlight we'd picked out and chose a more expensive one for us. When picking up the bike, one of the mechanics gave us some more drama over the placement of the U-lock; the whole experience was like dealing with 12-year old boys.
