WARNING!!! He does not do the repairs himself. He does not QA the work that is done and he stands behind his man-worker and will not believe you if you have issues with the repair. Do not take any repairs to this shop if you care about your jewelry.
I decided to take an antique ring in to have it sized and repeatedly asked for reasurance that it would not be damaged. When I got it back he indicated that it could not be sized and that he was not 'charging me' because it turned out that the ring was too fragile to size. He stated that when it started to break that they stopped and welded it back without damage to the ring. I believed him until I got home and viewed the DAMAGE with my loop. Not only had the ring fractured but they repaired a white gold ring with yellow gold...??? I took it back to him to discuss as I was very upset that he would even attempt to repair. Not much you can do to repair it now as it is ruined. I also assumed he did the repairs....wrong.
He asks me if I have had the ring previously repaired. I told him the ring was perfect and at no other time had anyone touched it. (I was afraid to have it re-sized) He tells me that he will need to discuss with his worker of 17 years who did the 'attempted prepair and who is "honest as the day is long" he says as he walks to the back room. I said "Why bother" to ask as he has already called me a liar. I have viewed my ring for 12 years and knew it was perfect.
