We recently used City Automotive's towing service through our auto club. We were concerned that we would need our car towed more than the 3 miles the auto club allows. When we inquired about the cost per mile over 3 miles, we were quoted approximately $2.50. When the driver arrived, we told him what we were quoted over the phone. He simply shook his head, and said, "I have to get after them. It's $3.00 per mile over 3 miles." Fortunately for us, we didn't need to go over 3 miles, and therefore had no additional charges. However, we were very disappointed that we got two differnt answers. And of course, we are concerned that if we ever have to use them again, and are in an even bigger jam, will we be over a barrel again?
The driver was nice enough, and was quick to get us where we were going. However, I am reluctant to use them again, since we got the impression that we were about to be taken advantage of.
